Got a question from an eBay seller today who was researching a cool pair of vintage Banana Republic trousers. I went digging through my catalogs and found them in Holiday 1986 (winter for wool trousers, naturally). A very cool item indeed! The “Discovered by Banana Republic” tag still attached, these are authentic NATO fatigues complete with a label inside from the West German maker. Neat to see that even in 1986 when they were firmly entrenched in malls across America BR was still digging up some surplus. Cold War spending sprees had their benefits.
