Banana Republic was of course a travel company, and as such they sold some really great bags. Rugged, elegant, roomy and efficient, they were detailed with lots of leather and had a seemingly endless supply of pockets. Having been so well built they have survived the decades and appear online all the time.

I’ve been on a search for a BR correspondent’s bag for a couple decades… I used one extensively in the late 80′s, then it was stolen in the Philppines and I haven’t been successul in locating one. The two Nikon bodies and three lenses were a loss… but I really miss that bag! Any tips or advice?

I’ve seen that bag on eBay before. I’d set up a search for vintage banana republic bag and see what comes. People kept the bags, the come around all the time. Good luck!
